EARS OF THE
DEAD
They say the
dead can hear us
When we
whisper in their graves
They say they
listen closely
To the secrets
that we crave
They say the
dead can comfort us
When we mourn
their loss and pain
They say they
send us messages
To help us
heal and gain
But what if
the dead can judge us
When we sin
and break their trust
What if they
know our darkness
And the things
that make us rust
What if the
dead can haunt us
When we stray
from their ideals
What if they
curse and mock us
And reveal
what we conceal
Would we still
speak to the dead
If we knew
they had such ears
Would we still
seek their guidance
Or would we
hide in fear
